Meet Avni Patankar, Au.D., CCC-A
Dr. Avni Patankar completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and following her work with the Marcus Institute in Atlanta, she decided a career in Speech Pathology and Audiology after helping pediatric patients diagnosed with genetic disorders. Her interest in Audiology peeked when she was at Auburn University completing clinical coursework prior to graduate studies. She completed her Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) degree from East Tennessee State University in 2011. Dr. Patankar received her doctorate training at the Mountain Home Veterans Affairs Medical System in Johnson City, TN and completed her externship in Audiology at the University of California Davis Medical Center in Sacramento, CA. Her work was published in the Journal of Speech, Language and Hearing Research in 2010 focused on “The normative data for Words in Noise (WIN) test in children 6 to 12 years of age.” She began her career working with the pediatric population, gradually serving patients of all ages from newborns to centenarians. Her experience includes working with Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, Pediatric ENT of Atlanta, Emory Healthcare, and Connect Hearing. Dr. Patankar has experience working with all major hearing aid brands, cochlear implants, and bone anchored hearing aids (BAHA). Exemplary patient care is the core mission at Maple Hearing Clinic and Dr. Patankar strives to meet this by adopting evolving audiology best practices at her clinic.
Dr. Patankar is board certified through American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA). She is also an active member of the American Tinnitus Association (ATA), American Academy of Audiology (AAA), and the Academy of Doctors of Audiology (ADA). She and her husband live in Forsyth County, with two daughters and their yellow lab. Her family enjoys traveling, visiting the Golden Isles of Georgia, board game nights on weekends, and outdoor activities.
